(Внеклассное мероприятие по английскому языку в 7 классе)

Цели:

– повысить интерес учащихся к изучению иностранного языка  и  стране изучаемого языка;

– воспитывать интерес к изучению предмета;

– обобщить страноведческие знания учащихся, полученные на уроках английского языка.

Задачи:

образовательные: в ходе творческой, самостоятельной, индивидуальной и групповой работы с дидактическими материалами закрепить знания учащихся по изученным темам («Школа», «Язык мира», «Англоговорящий мир», «Живые существа вокруг нас» и др.) и расширить общий кругозор;

развивающие:

– развивать умение работать в коллективе и принимать совместное решение;

– развивать положительные личностные качества (ответственность, доброжелательность, чувство взаимопомощи);

– развивать и тренировать языковые догадки , внимание, память, логическое мышление;

воспитательные:

– воспитывать уважение к культуре своей страны и стран изучаемого языка;

– воспитывать культуру общения;

– воспитывать уважительное отношение к соперникам.

Оборудование: карточки с заданиями, карточки для конкурсов «Lazy Sentences», «Captains», музыкальное сопровождение, оценочный лист, классная доска, мел, грамоты и дипломы.

Ход мероприятия

1. Организационный момент. Приветствие ведущего

Quiz-master: Good afternoon, children and our guests! I’m very glad to see you here. Now we shall organize a competition called «Funny Eglish». Two teams will take part in a game of the most quick-witted and the cleverest. It’s time to introduce yourselves. Who is the captain of the 1^st team?

P1: I’m the captain of the team. The name of our team is «Erudites». Our motto is “Enjoy English!”

Quiz-master: Who is the captain of the 2^nd team?

P2: I’m the captain of the team. The name of our team is «Optimists». Our motto is «Learn English!». (Состав команд, их названия и девиз определяются заранее.)

Quiz-master: Today all of you have a good chance to improve your English during the game. As there is no computer in the classroom, I have invited a competent jury to count the points. The members of our jury are …

Now I’m going to teach you how to play this game. The game has 6 contests, they are:

1. English-speaking countries.
2. School and schooling.
3. Lazy sentences.
4. Living things around us.
5. Captains’ contest.
6. Who is quicker?.

Well, I wish you success. Be active, honest and helpful! Remember 5 steps to success:

1.

Quiz-master: And now we come to the 1^st contest of the game called «English-speaking countries». So name English-speaking countries you know. You have 1 minute at your disposal. Each team can get 5 points.

2.

Quiz-master: And now we come to the 2^nd contest which is called «School and schooling». Your task is to name as much things connected with school as possible. The difficulty is that you shouldn’t repeat one and the same word two times. You can get 1 point for each right answer.

– Ready, steady, go!!!

Quiz-master: The 3^rd contest is called «Lazy sentences». Let us do one more task. Now we will give you some cards with 5 sentences. But be careful! The words in the cards are put into wrong positions. You are to correct the mistakes. Start doing the task. You are given 2 minutes. You can get 1 point for each right answer.

Quiz-master: The following task is for the rest . I need 1 pupil from each team. You should read the tongue-twister as quickly as you can 3 times.

Quiz-master: The 4th contest is called «Living things around us». You should name the birds. You can get 1 point for each right answer.

1. It is a small bird. People usually say that it can sing better than any other. It usually sings at night or in the early hours of the morning.
2. This bird lives in Africa , Australia and South America. People often keep them as pets and teach them to talk.
3. This bird is larger than a sparrow but smaller than a crow. It can be blue-grey, grey, sometimes whit or brown. Some time ago people used them to carry short letters.
4. This is a sea bird. It feeds mostly on fish and often follows ships.
5. This black-and-white bird lives in the woods and forests, but people often see it near their houses. The bird has a long tail and a loud cry.
6. A bird with a strong narrow beak. People sometimes call it the “doctor’ of trees.
7. A large water bird, usually white, sometimes black in colour, it has a long neck and flies to the south in autumn.
8. A night bird with large round eyes, it hunts and eat small animals.
