«The life of theirs. Travel around Russia»

 

Предмет: английский язык, 10 класс

Тема: «Travelling».

Продолжительность: 45 минут

Тип урока: урок обобщения и систематизации знаний

Цель урока: – закрепление языкового материала по теме «Travelling».

Задачи урока: обобщение и систематизация полученных знаний, умение употреблять пройденную лексику в высказываниях, в беседе.

Образовательные – продолжать совершенствовать лексико-грамматические навыки  и умения учащихся  в чтении и говорении по теме, формировать навыки активного

речевого поведения, развития творческих способностей.

Развивающие – развивать мышление, память, самостоятельность, совершенствовать

навыки связной речи, развивать интеллект и познавательные способности.

Воспитательные – воспитывать любовь к России, желание путешествовать всеми видами транспорта,  прививать интерес к путешествиям.

Формы обучения: фронтальная, групповая, индивидуальная.

Вид урока: урок самореализации

Методы обучения: объяснительно-иллюстративный, репродуктивный, информационный.

Межпредметная связь: география, русский язык и литература.

Teacher: Good morning, my dear students.

I`m glad to see you.

Teacher: My dear students, we have an unusual lesson today.

Many guests are visiting our lesson. Dear guests, we are glad to welcome you to our English lesson.

And now it`s time to start our lesson.

Teacher: Right you are.  Modern life is impossible without travelling. Millions of people all over the world spend their holidays travelling. . We make a tour around Russia and we’ll take Alisa with us.
Teacher: We start with Tatarstan – our home.
Teacher: Alisa, can you tell about Tatarstan?
Alisa: Tatarstan is a subject of Russian Federation. The capital is Kazan. More than 170 nations live here.
Teacher: Alisa, but this information is known to everybody. Can you tell us something more interesting things.

Alisa, what is next our destination? Where we are going now?
Alisa: We are going to the South, sunny Abkhazia.
Teacher: Ok, what means of transport do you suggest?
Alisa: Train of course. It is more comfortable and cheaper than planes.
Teacher: By the way and there is the latest news, president of two Republics Tatarstan and Abkhazia signed the document about mutual development in economics and tourism. So, Abkhazia is our friendly country.

It will take us two days and two nights to get to Abkhazia. By the way do you know how Abkhazia translated – «A Land of Soul».

Tour around Abkhazia

To make a tour around Abkhazia we ask two guides from teleshow «Life of their own». So there are here and wait tiny for us. Please introduce youselves.

Guides: Hello, we are Misha and Nastya and we tell you about Abkhazia.

  • Do you know that Abkhazia coast is the cleanest on the Black Sea. The most famous resorts are Gagra and Pitsunda.
  • Abkhazia is a fruit and honey paradise. Tangerines are harvested in December, that′s why you have tangerines on New Year Holidays.
  • Also, there is very tasty food in Abkhszia. For example, kebab, khachapuri and suluguni cheese. Many people come to eat shashlik.
  • The Abkhaz language is complex, its alphabet consists of 64 letters. Each letter has several pronunciations, and the record holder is the letter k, which has 6 pronunciations.
  • The city of Sukhum, the capital of Abkhazia, is 3 times older than Moscow, it is already more than 2500 years old.
  • Horse racing is the most popular sport in Abkhazia. Do you know that children start horse racing before the walk.
  • Abkhazia ranks 1st in the world in terms of natural reserves of fresh water per capita.
  • Abkhazia has its own big wall, as in China, nicknamed the great one. However, unlike the Celestial Empire, it is more modest, and stretches for 160km.

Teacher: Baikal is our next destination. It′s really far land.

Alisa, how we′ll get to Baikal?

Alisa: By plane.

Teacher: Thank you, Alisa. What would I do without you?

By the way, children. What do you know about Baikal?

Students: It′s the deepest fresh water lake. It has a beautiful landscape. There is a great variety of fish.

Teacher: Do you know it is a land of shamans. Alisa, what can you say about shaman?

Alisa: Shaman is a man or a woman who can speak with spirits and souls of dead people in trans state. It is an ambassador between material and spiritual worlds.

Teacher: Thank you, Alisa. На этом месте ребята, я думаю, мы должны вернутся к нашим истокам, ведь это путешествие по России и мы будем говорить на русском языке. Иначе нам не понять, что будет говорить шаманка, которую мы пригласили сегодня специально для вас.

Шаманка: Я вызываю духов наших предков, чтобы они помогли этим ученикам в учебе! Да пребудет с вами сила!

Тeacher: Спасибо тебе, шаманка, за твое благословение, надеюсь нашим ребятам это поможет в учебе!

IV.Work with the text

Travelling

Millions of people all over the world spend their holidays travelling. They travel to see other countries and continents, modern cities and  towns. It is always interesting to discover new things, to meet different people, to try different food, to listen to different music.

Those who live in the country like to go to a big city and spend their time visiting museums and art galleries, looking at shop windows and dining at exotic restaurants.

People like to walk and bathe and laze in the sun.

Most travelers take a camera with them and take pictures — lakes; waterfalls, different kinds of trees, flowers and plants; animals and birds.

People travel by train, by boat and by car.

All means of travel have their advantages and disadvantages. And people choose one according to their plans and destinations.

If we are fond of travelling, we see and learn a lot of things that we can never see or learn at home, though we may read about them in books and newspapers, and see pictures of them on TV. The best way to study geography is to travel, and the best way to get to know and understand the people is to meet them in their own homes.
